gravel heaven
Blessed with the most amazing variety of gravel routes, the Serra Mariola region and Valencia is the perfect two-wheeled gravel destination. There are thousands of miles gravel routes, easy and hard, including climbs above 1000m, multiple National Parks, rolling routes through the stunning Fontanars wine region and many beautiful valleys.
There's an extensive Vie Verde system taking you through never completed rail routes now given up to cycling. There's a vast network of groomed fire trails covering every mountain range, that serves as fire breaks and access paths to manned lookout stations that monitor for summer forest fires, but perhaps, more importantly, make awesome non-technical gravel riding routes alternatives to the natural tracks.
